Hi! I have seen everyone doing this tag, and I decided to give it a try!
Can’t believe that already half the year is gone, just yesterday it felt like it was January. At least, during this year my reading has gone pretty well. I have read so many great books, found so many new favorites and “fangirling” over so many new characters. Also, working on this tag made me realize how many books I’m still missing. This could have been endless, but I tried to shorted it as much as I could. So little time and so many books to read.
So, let’s get started then:
BEST BOOK YOU’VE READ THIS YEAR
This year I have read so many amazing books, and I couldn’t just choose one, so I decided to narrow it to the best three, still it was REALLY hard to decided.
The Secret History by Donna Tartt
The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saénz
If you haven’t read any of these books, then I highly recommend them all!
BEST SEQUEL YOU’VE READ SO FAR
This one is easy:
Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
The Wicked King by Holly Black
Even though, I loved The Queen of Nothing, for some reason, The Wicked King really stuck with me more.
NEW RELEASE YOU HAVEN’T READ YET BUT WANT TO
There are a lot, but I’m always late to releases anyways. I try to narrow it to the five I wan to read the most:

Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare
Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender
A Song of Wraith and Ruin by Roseanne A. Brown
A Song Below Water by Bethany C Morrow
Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASE(S) FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE YEAR
Again, there are a lot of books that I have been dying to read and that I have been waiting for their releases, but I try to narrow it to five:

A Sky Beyond the Storm by Sabaa Tahir
Blood & Honey by Shelby Mahurin
The Tower of Nero by Rick Riordan
Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT
I was really excited to read this book, that’s why I was so sad when I had to DNF it. I really tried to finish it, but it wasn’t for me.
BIGGEST SURPRISE
I found this book while looking for Greek Mythology retellings, so when I stumbled into one about Hades and Persephone I got it right away and it was one of the best decisions I made. I was so surprised on how much I enjoyed this book. If you love Greek Mythology as much as I do, then I highly recommend this book!
A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair
FAVORITE NEW AUTHOR (DEBUT OR NEW TO YOU)
I have discovered so many new incredible authors this year, but definitely my top ones are Donna Tartt and Shelby Mahurin!
NEWEST FICTIONAL CRUSH
Cardan Greenbriar from The Folk of the Air series. I would marry him right away and be his Queen, thank you very much.
NEWEST FAVORITE CHARACTER
Louise le Blanc from the Serpent & Dove. She’s such a badass and fun character, I really loved reading her POV. Also, Jude Duarte from The Folk of the Air series, also a badass amazing character and I just love the Slytherin vibes that she has.
BOOK THAT MADE YOU CRY
I kind of cry a lot while reading, but these books definitely made me cry harder:
Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
The Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan (reread)
Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
Leigh Bardugo knows how to make me cry.
BOOK THAT MADE YOU HAPPY
A lot of books made me happy, but only one is the winner:
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saénz
FAVORITE BOOK TO MOVIE ADAPTATION YOU’VE SEEN THIS YEAR
I can’t think of any. I have mostly rewatch movies or series, and the new movies I have watch haven’t been adaptation. So, I failed this one.
FAVORITE REVIEW YOU’VE WRITTEN THIS YEAR
So far, I have only written one in my blog, so The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern.
MOST BEAUTIFUL BOOK(S) YOU’VE BOUGHT THIS YEAR
I have bought a lot of beautiful books, but these are my favorite ones so far:
King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo
The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
WHAT BOOKS DO YOU NEED TO READ BY THE END OF THE YEAR?
A lot of books! Like, a lot! But these are some books that are higher on my Tbr:

Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim
If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio
Hope you enjoy it! Let me know all your thoughts in the comments!
Love,
Drea.

Aw so happy that you liked The Folk of the Air series!! I read Cruel Prince way back when it first came out, but haven’t gotten around to reading the other two books in the series, though recently I’ve felt a nagging to finally finish them!! This post is definitely inspiring me to go pick them up (: Also, absolutely love these pictures!! The aesthetic is so cozy (: I hope your second half of the year is just as great! ❤️

Agreed, Cardan has won my heart… I’m so mad at myself for only reading the series a couple of days ago!
